The original design for the slab on grade at The Lock Up Self Storage called for twelve inches of concrete reinforced with 55 pounds per cubic yard of steel fibers. PrīmXComposite requires steel fibers in the design as well, so this was a perfect opportunity to suggest an alternate. After the design was completed by the engineers, an eight inch PrīmXComposite slab is able to exceed the base bid slab. The cost savings and the benefits of a jointless floor made this PrīmXComposite alternate the solution the owner chose.
